JAMES HENDRA

Environmental Planner (B.Bus. MPlanPrac (hons). MNZPI)

James is a diligent and careful environmental planner with nearly two decades years of experience in consultancy and council roles. James brings attention to detail, technical accuracy and a broad array of skills to WLA.

  • James provides specialist advice to Auckland Council’s regulatory function as an open space expert, reporting on resource consent applications. Expect attention to detail, technical accuracy, on-time delivery, and clear communication. James enjoys surfing the west coast and fishing.

CLAIRE WALKER

Landscape Architect (BLA. Registered NZILA)

Claire is a driven and outcome focused landscape architect who has worked on multi-disciplinary project teams since the early nighties. Her clarity of thought and honest opinions adds another layer of value beyond her capable landscape architecture and design skills.

  • Claire is competent in all aspects of the landscape design process from conceptual landscape design to detailed construction drawings and contract management of project installation. She has a broad range of project experience spanning all scales and types of landscape design, site planning, landscape ecology and landscape management.

    Claire is comfortable leading consultation and facilitation of design solutions which meet client and community needs. She has a good practical understanding of construction methods and design detailing, stemming from her architectural design background.

    She currently sits as an independent expert on the Design Review Panel for the Auckland Housing Programme for Kainga Ora.

    With a pragmatic and logical approach to achieving efficient and effective landscape design solutions. She is highly capable, honest and hardworking and is willing to put in extra effort, can be depended upon and is a good communicator.

    Claire loves old school camping and caravan holidays at far flung places around Aotearoa.

Mat glanfield

Specialist Project Manager (Dip. Marketing)

Mathew has worked in a variety of operational, project delivery, management, and strategic planning positions throughout his career in both large and small-scale organisations, with a focus on leading diverse teams to deliver project outcomes.

  • In recent years he has managed the successful delivery of complex co-governance private and public sector projects. Mathew is passionate about working with mana whenua, communities, local boards and council to collectively improve our public spaces.

    His experience encompass a broad range of projects , including feasibility, design and delivery of recreational trails networks, development of Fire Risk Management governance plans, feasibility and implementation of open space vehicle access systems, governance planning for ecology restoration projects and planning, design and delivery of mana whenua cultural art projects.

    Mat has also been trusted with managing the successful refurbishment of historical buildings and assets on Māori land, managing planning, design, delivery and governance .

    Having worked closely with Auckland Council Mathew understands the dynamics, delivery framework and associated obligations required to deliver successful projects.

    Mat loves mountain biking, fishing and keeping fit.
